Purpose
The purpose of Phi Alpha Honor Society is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideas. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.
Membership
Graduate Student:

​

  • Have completed (9) semester hours of required social work courses

  • Institutional GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale

  • 3.50-grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale in required social work course

  • Submit an unoffical JSU transcript.

  • Have no repeated courses

  • Admitted to the Social Work Program.

  • 3.40-grade point average (GPA) in required social work courses

  • No repeated social work courses
